
NGOZI UDE IGWE
EARLY LIFE
Mrs. Ngozi Ude Igwe hails from Amiyi Okoko Item in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. She is the first daughter of Ogbuefi Ucheya Oke and Late Chief Mrs. Erinma Oke.
Young Ngozi Ude Igwe was fortunate to receive lessons on integrity, native intelligence and humility very early on in life. These three major virtues shaped the course of her life, portraying signs of doggedness, preparedness and resilience as early manifestations of a life soon to be full of giant strides and exploits.
EDUCATION
Ngozi started her primary education at Mary Slessor Primary school, Arochukwu. She later moved to Urban Primary School and Abakaliki High School Abakaliki, all in present day Ebony State.
She started her tertiary education at Alvan Ikoku College of Education Owerri in Imo State for her National Certificate of Education (NCE) and obtained a BSc(Ed) at the University of Port Harcourt in River State.
MARRIAGE
She is married to Professor Samuel Okoronkwo Igwe and the union is blessed with children.
CAREER
After acquiring her NCE and BSc(Ed), she taught in some secondary schools in Imo and Abia States. From there she moved on to Abia State University Uturu as an Administrative Officer and rose to the post of a Deputy Registrar.
RELIGION/PHILANTHROPIC ENDEAVORS
Ngozi is of the Wesley Methodist Church of Nigeria. Her material and moral support to evangelism and the defense of the Christian Faith has known no boundaries. She is a recipient of many recognitions and awards including: “Ezinne (Good Mother)” by the Methodist Diocese of Umuahia; “Mother of the Day” by the Christ Methodist Church World Bank Housing Estate Umuahia on the occasion of her 20th anniversary Celebration; “Golden Mother” by the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Umuagu Ibeku, Umuahia Women’s Guild on the occasion of her 2021 Mothering Sunday Celebration in appreciation of her contributions and concern toward the growth of the women in the Church. Furthermore Nzuko Arochukwu Women’s Wing awarded her “Ezi Enyi Aro (Good Friend of the Aros)” for her outstanding contribution in the service to Arochukwu and humanity. She was given the chieftaincy title of “Ugwu Di Ya (Dignity of her Husband)” by Ujurueze 1 of Ebem Oha of Ohafia in Ohafia LGA, etc.

Mrs. Ngozi U Igwe belongs to several strategic professional bodies and reputable social organizations as testament to her high standing and robust interpersonal relationships.
